Static Pressure

pst is termed static pressure. This is the pressure exerted on a wall parallel to the flow. It is the internal pressure of a gas that would be indicated by a measuring instrument moving at the same speed as the flow. It can be measured as the pressure difference in comparison with atmospheric pressure pa by means of a tapping of an appropriate form in the duct wall.
