Fan Wheels for Grain Dryers and Silo Blowers

To maintain the quality and storability of free-flowing products such as grain, corn, rice, and oilseeds, and to reduce post-harvest losses, grain drying and silo ventilation equipment is used.

To maximize crop throughput in the seasonal operation and keep operating costs as low as possible, drying equipment should be designed to be energy efficient. Optimal matching of the warm air generator, dryer and blower is a prerequisite for gentle and energy-efficient crop drying. A highly efficient blower can make a decisive contribution to reducing drying time by providing high volume flow at low power consumption. Depending on the yield and weather-related moisture content of the crop, the required drying capacity of a grain dryer varies, and with it the volume flow and static pressure to be generated by the centrifugal blower.

In addition to a high efficiency in the operating range of the plant, the blower used should be as space-saving as possible and have a low weight in order to keep the installation and maintenance effort low. The latter applies in particular to mobile aeration blowers used in joint ventures or contractors. If the drying plant or the blower for silo aeration is used in the vicinity of residential areas, the high acoustic requirements of the fan wheels or fans used must also be taken into account.

The Grain Drying fan wheels are a series specially developed for silo ventilation and grain drying. The maximum shaft power of the fan wheel is matched to the rated motor power and speed of common standard motors. Thanks to an efficient impeller-nozzle combination, a very high air performance is achieved. The design of the Grain Drying fan wheel with airfoil blade geometry enables low sound power.
