To verify the performance data of fans and their components, they are measured on standardized test rigs in order to achieve worldwide comparability of the performance data. In earlier years, there were different national standards that regulated the performance measurement of fans in the individual countries. As a result of the different standards, measurement results were repeatedly obtained that did not always lead to comparable results. After many years of work by the ISO/TC 117 technical committee on an international standard for performance measurements of fans on standardized test rigs, ISO 5801 was completed. This standard has now superseded national standards and created a worldwide standard. In addition to ISO 5801, the American standard AMCA 210 is the globally accepted guideline for standardized test rig setups for measuring the performance of fans.
In the area of verification of the strength of fans, or in particular of fan impellers, there is no globally standardized procedure. At punker we draw on decades of experience gained through the use of fan impellers in a wide variety of industries and have developed our own evaluation methods for reliable operation with regard to operational strength under a wide variety of operating conditions.
