14.4. Fan Wheels for SHEVS applications

In addition to the motor, the fan wheels are considered to be a decisive component of the fire gas fan. The impeller must not suffer any loss in performance due to the effects of heat and smoke or deform geometrically to such an extent that the product fails. But in contrast to the actual system, they cannot be certified separately and, once the system has been certified, may only be adapted or replaced in accordance with the modification specifications of DIN EN 12101-3.

As high temperatures (up to 600 °C) are generally present in SHEv systems, steel designs are used for radial fan wheels that are capable of conveying a high volume flow with a tendency towards small installation space. Typically, fixed wheel/hub connections such as fixed hubs are used. Learn more about punker impeller solutions for SHEVS applications here.
