In the course of certifications and directives, high demands are nowadays placed on machine safety. The "Safety Integrity Level" (SIL) can be used to evaluate and classify the possible hazards and risks. Usually, (partial) functions of a complete machine as well as all associated possible hazards for users and persons in the vicinity are considered here.
Seen in this way, the fan impeller component only fulfills a function in the complete system and must therefore also be evaluated in the system, which differs depending on the application.
