3.6.2. Centrifugal Fan with Balancing Section

In the centrifugal fan as well as in the other types of fans, the discharge flow is usually very unevenly distributed over the cross-section (see figure 3.6.2.). A pressure-side equalizing section results in a uniform flow velocity profile with a simultaneous increase in the static pressure measurable on the suction side. The equalizing section acts similar to a diffuser.
